Recently I found out that apparently when we were going through our implementation phase, one of our implementation specialists was asked by our client to help provide a bill rate for an independent contractor they were bringing on. The hiring manager was ok with the $125/hr asked by the contractor. When we looked at the actual work being done by the contractor our rate data showed that with his experience the rate should be around $85/hr.
We were able to feed this information to the hiring manager who was then able to talk intelligently to the contractor and negotiate to a market relevant rate.
Our client has never forgotten this one small outcome but it has become our largest feather.
